Geordan Murphy could miss a upcoming Six Nations Championship

Ireland Geordan Murphy could miss a upcoming Six Nations Championship after his ankle injured on Saturday.

Captain Leicester Tigers was stretchered close of ten minutes from the end of the 27-19 defeat of Northampton.

Tigers boss Richard Cockerill said about injury, “He's gone over on his ankle and we'll assess it over the next couple of days.”

Murphy’s absence could make a big selection headache for Ireland coach Declan Kidney with first choice full return Rob Kearney already ruled out of the opening games.

The Six Nations opener against Italy in Rome on 5 February the injuries are beginning to heap up for Kidney.

As well as having to play game without Kearney and possibly Murphy, Jerry Flannery will also be missing for the first two games of the competition.
